A predictably quiet beginning to the year on patch. c1200 Black-headed Gulls & 60 Common Gulls headed to roost in the 45 minutes before dusk, in the direction of Walthamstow Reservoirs.

Additional records: Redwings were heard overhead on the evenings of both the 31st and 1st (a nice first species for 2007). The chiffy was in its favoured area in the NW corner of the ER on 31st (PR). The House Sparrow flock in the gardens behind Geldeston Road numbers at least 25, up on the last few months.
